Here is one I am curious about: What is the hardest gpc category to 'get to the scale' ? (splits rots or other dq's...) I have not looked at the gpc stats yet. I wonder if marrows will become the new hardest-to-grow category.

Cantaloupe is tough. It seems to have a short shelf life so timming is rather hard.but on the gpc list it would have to be tomato. Unlikely your best tomato will be ready for October weighoff !!! Fortunately we have a early entry form.

Field pumpkins have been the toughest for us to grow. Probably because we grow them like AG's and ineveitibly they split as they reach maturity. Sooo frusterating because the plants are fun to grow and so beautiful!

Yeah, very odd those markings on the leaves, akin to grey or silver. Next category to judge---prettiest PLANTS!

Field pumpkins aren't so bad for us. Except for powdery mildew, we have much less disease trouble. What has become the problem is the long gourds. Mainly the brown rust-like fungus.
