It's only just occurred to me that last year when inspecting the plant after harvest, that not all the nodes of the secondaries produced roots. Some produced loads of roots, some not many, and some none at all.
Ideally we want to have roots coming from as many nodes as possible, so has anybody tried rooting powder, or are there any other suggested methods?

Here are several problems here are wind and/or heat. If your moving vines after they started to root. Also if your using a preemergent.

I find that bugs like to target these roots earwigs and other bugs too I would imagine. Perhaps having less roots is a symptom that the plant has less than perfect energy energy or nutrients... if there are bugs or pathogens in the soil... or moles, even. Sorry for the rambling but I am in the same boat. My roots could also be better.
