Happy Holidays folks-
As Andy described a few threads ago, the genetics working group has assembled a package of seeds catering to one of the group's first objectives: driving optimization of big, beautiful, & bright orange genetic purity.
This package is now available for sale at the SCGA website. $40 gets you 6 seeds, 2 each from the three participating pumpkins. In full disclosure, the SCGA will retain a portion of the cost for shipping & handling fees. We are brainstorming an incentive-based structure for those who purchase the package and follow our suggestions on crossing the genetics therein, tied to scale performance next fall. details to follow.
See more about the collection and purchase here: https://www.stcroixgrowers.org/collections/premium-collections
(and thank you Pete Caspers for being a coincidental stand-in for the cover photo of the 1211 Ailts at scale. You make a great reference point. :)

I'd like to take part. I have a couple of orange selfed that I grew myself. But, I'm in Canada. So with extra for S&H can I join up?

The SCGA does not charge additional S&H for shipments abroad (Eddy Z taught us that lesson years ago). Anyone residing on planet Earth can purchase our seeds for the same S&H cost.
Folks elsewhere in the solar system/galaxy/universe/multiverse please inquire separately.

Eddy-
I appreciate the offer. If we run into trouble getting seeds into Canada, you'll be my first call. In the interim, the SCGA has had nearly zero difficulty (knock on wood) with international shipments, notably Canada. Having established a positive working relationship with our local post office, wheels have been adequately greased for reliability. Australia remains the one exception to that rule.

As an addendum to this effort, I have compiled pedigrees for each of the three seeds in this collection, along with photos of the pumpkins whose genetics contributed to these orange beauties. You can view these delights in my diary: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=299844

I ordered the set. I have two orange lines of my own. One is Detweiller 1351 X 1704 Clementz. All seeds so far produced dark orange . Several selfs from this this year. Also I grew four Clements 2043 and selfed all of them. All were shades of mid orange, but should produce some nice dark orange from the selfed seeds.
