For those that are interested in historical data as a predictor for future top weight achievements, I've updated the 2006-2017 data set to include 2018.

You can view the graphical representation of these projections in my diary: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=299273

Cannot emphasize enough how tightly correlated to a linear trend this data is, both for top weight pumpkin and top ten average.

There will come a day when this curve flattens, however there's nothing in this year's or any previous year's data that suggests we've hit a top weight plateau. In the interim, we get to enjoy the golden age of giant pumpkin prosperity.

Its interesting how linear the top ten line is and how the angle has stayed the same. Does suggest no slowing down in sight. The other line bounces around a lot more which Id expect cause its based on one fruit/data point.

I don't know enough about predictive analytics to know if Joe is on to something. But, it is darn interesting.
