They edited the heck out of it but what a fun day the kids had! My boy Kingston had the time of his life!
Logan lives 18 miles from us.

Yes, I got this one from Josiah a couple months back.:) It was hard being quiet about it knowing how big it was.

Thanks Josiah, other then that little spot of rot the pumpkin was a hit!

500-1500 a seed? I knew everything was pricier in Califronia. lol Was that you Chris that answered Logan's question about seed prices?

Yeah, I was going to say 1,500 to 1,800 but I didn't want to scare Eddy, lol

Did you get $5 a pound for that one Chris?

At those seed prices, I can see why Elk Grove starts their auctions at $100. That is what happens when Google execs get into the hobby of growing giant pumpkins. :-)

Just so your not on the wrong page col fryght, I myself and most growers I know give out their seeds for free. Auction prices is what I'm referring to and some of the highest numbers ever paid.
Auctions help good causes and local clubs, if people want to support the clubs I'm all about it. Selling seeds at our auction is one of the best fundraisers we have and all that money goes towards the weigh off site.

Google execs? Who are you referring to??

Chris, you do a lot for our hobby with awareness, fundraising, supporting clubs, buying seeds and in general just supporting and encouraging many growers on this site, including me. You do it all generously without resorting to a wierd costume, a phoney name, fake teeth, goofy slogan or any type of insane behaviour.

Thanks for sharing this video, can’t wait for The documentary.

No conflicts here. I am pro-charity, pro-capitalism and pro-individual seed rights. And I am appreciative of the grass roots efforts made by others- I am a premium member of big pumpkins, a member of the St. Croix Pumpkin Growers Association in part because they support Big Pumpkins with advertising money. And I purchased several raffle tickets with no genuine expectation of winning, to help OVGPG.

North Shore, I was teasing about the Google execs. Many articles have been written about the Google effect on the housing market around the corporate campus with prices skyrocketing.

I’ve been taught that sharing what we know, giving of our time, helping the newer grower every chance we get is what this is all about. Being able to help someone then watching them have the best year ever is priceless!

Elk Grove is one heck of a weigh off and 100 bucks for Leonardo’s 1911 is a smoking deal. ALL the money they get from their seed auction goes directly back to the weigh off and prize money. I’ll probally be bidding on it this winter, id love to have a couple of those 1911’s after what I saw it do this past season!
One of the hardest things we do down here for our weigh off is getting prize money, sponsees help a lot but the seed auctions are a big part of it.

I’m done going off topic, now if you want to see something funny watch what Logan does with the Pumpkin next! Lol. It will be out in next couple days!:)

North Shore thinks Logans real insanity is ok but Bubbas tongue in cheek fun schtick is not ok?
Ugh. Lets support the gpc by not turning it into the great puritans commonwealth.

Hey Glenomkins, I didn’t mention Logan or my opinion about him at all, and I certainly never mentioned Bubba either. Maybe don’t run your mouth or your theories too much with no knowledge to back you up.

Just want to thank Chris for all the help he gave me this year as a second year grower. I went from a 167 pound giant pumpkin last year to a 826 pounder this year because of his help and Cecil Weston’s Help. They were always willing to answer emails and phone calls. I grew three giant pumpkins and the local casino bought all three. What a blessed year for me. The pumpkin community members are so unselfish with their knowledge. Thank you all.

Thanks for the kind words Carla! You were a joy and really easy to help! I know Cecil would say the same! He’s been a little out of the loop the past year but he’ll be back soon!! He’s really helped me dial in my Soil!

Good luck in 2019 and I know a couple 1000 plus pound pumpkins will be coming out of your patch this coming season!

Don’t hesitate to call anytime!:)
