A nice festival across from Pt. Park State Park. Dave Stelts did a great job of rounding up 30 pumpkins from 4 weigh-offs. Andy Wolf, Jerry Snyder and Nick Harp assisted Dave.
6 excellent pumpkin carvers, pumpkin drops, regatta, etc. Karl Haist's "Big 3" were the main attraction.
Go to youtube and facebook for pictures.

We had a great time! I don't think I've seen many weighoffs run as smoothly and without major problems as that event did. Tons of people, it will be swamped if the weather is a little better next time.

Heck, even caught a 20 pounder fishing. Going to have to use a pole next time.

Fun event for sure. I stood around in the PGPGA booth while Larry Checkon chatted it up with people interested in growing a giant.

Rumor has it that Andy snagged that 20 pounder. So I heard. Haha

I had the 20 pounder on the end of my rope but it got away... New York boys just keep exceeding the standard!

What Dave did for the event was way more than nice, it was unbelievable! Commonly asked questions:
"How many years does it take to grow one?"
"What do you feed them besides milk?"
"How many seeds do you put in a hill?"
"50 gallons PER DAY!!?"
"Can you eat them?"

The event was a huge success for the first year out the estimate for the 2 days was 75,000. The way the growers came together to help put on this show was humbling & am proud to be part of this awesome community.

I have to give a shout out to all the growers who made their pumpkins available plus the ones who came down to help Jerry Snyder, Andy (& Amelia) Wolf, Nick Harp & family, Larry & Gerry Checkon, Al Gibson, Frank Lanterman, Dustin Trychta, Jay Yohe.....

It was also great to meet the carvers who put put on the most awesome display of carving I have ever seen Danny Kissel, Dean Murray, Russ Leno, Gus Smithheisler, Steve Zuhlke, Jim Morgan, this crew was assembled by Gus & knocked it out of the park.

I will add that Andy is the best fisherman I know it amazed me what you can catch on a ratchet strap if you have the proper technique ;-)

Was watching from NY, just what our hobby needs, and Dave coordinated a great event. Carving was especially awesome.
