After 11 1/2 years of keeping the Giant Pumpkin record in the Phoenix area; Scott Culp has taken the title to Southern Arizona. Scott crushed the existing record by 207 pounds. His record pumpkin was weighed as part of the Arizona State Fair/Arizona Fall Giant Vegetable Championships. Culp grew his 693 lb pumpkin from a 2036 Glasier 2014 seed, which was selfed. The fruit was set 14 feet out on the main vine. The plant was grown in a 1,000 sf area. Congratulations, Scott!
