Newbie here. I have noticed that a lot of people don't have any vine beyond their pumpkin. I let mine grow about 10 ft beyond the pumpkin then cut. Is it good, bad, or debatable to cut the vine beyond the pumpkin?

Common practice is to grow some vines after kin, there is some theory on hormones that are produced by keeping the main going. Ive heard numbers like an addition 15% by growing vines after kin.
