Hi all, if you could take a look at my damaged pumpkin (just posted to diary), I'd love to hear your opinions on the chance of it surviving.
It just happens that its the best one I have ever grown
Thanks

I have had pumpkins with much worse damage inflicted by rabbits and groundhogs heal up just fine.

Pete, I've had worse from critters and tree branches. You'll be good. Keep it dry.

Thanks guys. I'm still kicking myself. Pumpkins do best when I'm on holiday.

No idea on the skin problem, but I wanted to congratulate you on the nice pumpkin. It is literally the perfect size, in my opinion. It is really large, but has a nice round shape and a good pumpkin orange color. Wishing you the best on your pumpkin recovery.
