My first time with AG's. Is there a usual time when AG typically put on the larger gains? For example, do they typically put on the biggest gains after 30 DAP. I know there are numerous things effecting growth rate, I just wonder if there is any type of typical pattern that most all AG progress through.

Around 35 DAP for me this year. The pumpkins actual weight gains probably peak around day 40 but the measurements peak a little earlier... The pumpkin switches from growing bigger to growing thicker so the weight gains may be there still at dap 45... but the measurements have usually gone down by then. Hopefully someone will have a better answer.
Has anyone grown one on a scale? Link??

My biggest gains have been from around day 20-40 and normally end up with a pumpkin that is double the weight of day 35. But i haven't grown a big one yet(672 PB) so my stats may be off

Day 20 to 40 here also. The bonus I get now growing the 1000 plus sq ft plants is the weights don't slow down like they use to on my 400 sq ft plants from the past. The weights come down much slower with all that new rooting and leaves we continue to grow. I'm still burying vines!:)

They grow with increasing and then decreasing weight along a bell curve. The top of the curve somewhere around day 30 through day 40. They have been grown on a scale but that info was not made public.Weather and genetics will change the curve but it has that basic shape. It would be very cool to see the actually weight gain on one of these mega giants/vs what the chart says.

And very interesting hearing about the weights on the scales cojoe. It has changed some of my watering style for sure...
Interesting stuff for sure!
Someone will make it public soon.:)

I would be most interested in knowing the rate of decline past the peak. I think that is where "slow and steady" comes into play. Of course as mentioned, there may be too many factors to actually discern a pattern. If OTT is considered relatively reliable, I guess you could analyze a couple thousand seasonal results and see if there was a common pattern once you discount the outliers.
