Does anyone know of a bug repellent for pumpkins outside of planting companion plants to keep the bugs from attacking the plants in the first place? I have 2 plants that have gotten yellow vine this year and I have been rotating 3 insecticides diligently. I know squash bugs tend to be the ones that transmit the disease but even if they die after they bit my plant the plant still gets the disease.

I use garlic powder when plants are young. When I put water in garbage cans to warm up in the sun, I add garlic to that. Problem this year we have gotten good rains, did very little watering. I know garlic repels cucumber beetles, don't know how it works on squash bugs.
