About a foot away from my stump where I had a vine split I found a big spot of rot on the underside of my vine. I cut off allof it plus some and dried it out with paper towels. Then checked all the plant for rot and found it in one other spot 1 foot away from the first spot. I treated that one the same way. Later I will be going to the store to get sulpher powder. What else should I do? Also how much will this affect my pumpkin I cut off a little more than half of the vine? My pumpkin is 23 ft out

It has been very wet and will rain for the rest of the week

I would estimate the plant at about 600-700 square feet I haven’t measured it in over a week but last time it was over 400 square feet.

you can pull soil away from under the rot areas had a fan and place a roof over it to keep out rain

I’d add Captan powder to your grocery list as well...stay on top of it...check the rest of the plant...‘tis the season”...good luck

Do I just put the powder on the rot spots or do I mix it with water and spray it on the plant? If so how much per gallon? I can’t find it in the directions

Powder on the rot only unless other disease issues cover over the rot spats and a fan to help them dry out. An alternate to the powder is to paint the wounds with daconil. With all this you may still need to cut the rotting vine out to save the pumpkin.

I already cut the rotting vine out I took off a little more than half of the stump. How much will that affect the pumpkins growth?

Do I still put captain on the section of the vine that I cut the disease away from?

A fan really helps dry “issue spots” and can help tremendously , especially if problems are caught early...

FYI, it is 'Captan'. Not Captain, just to help you acquire the right stuff. I keep some on hand always. Good luck!
