Wanted to pick people's brain on this issue. I know blankets on the fruit help but what ideas have you tried that work?

If I water in the evening, I warm up the water through the day in a black garbage can. Adding a little humic/fulvic turns the water brown to warm it up more along with adding some goodies. I found the warm water in the evening helps gains. If I water with the hose, I do that in the morning when the plant is already cooled down.

Step #1 Install greenhouse over plant
Step #2 Stoke wood burner inside every 2-6 hours

well i mentioned the idea of using soil heating cables under the soil under the pumpkin. If you shade your pumpkin and your nights are 50 degrees and your ground is 50 degrees how is the bottom of the pumpkin going to be much above 50 degrees. But if the ground is cold that might be a good thing whem the weather goes above 90.

I must have the same problem Tanner..mine are growing too slowly also. We do share the same nights. Looking forward to seeing you this fall at the weighoffs. Keep that one going...you can break your pb, even if it is too cool.

Spambie and I were just talking about this after seeing some growers have furnaces in their greenhouses for nighttime. Our overnight lows even in summer are 55-60 degrees. We are in a hot spell now and it’s 80-82 daytime high and 55 degree nighttime low.

We are Coastal so I blame the ocean influences on overnight temps, but we wouldn’t change a thing...unless I had the cash to build a screenhouse.

I use heavy cotton or canvas drop clothes like what painters use... I even use a quilt or a big blanket or a sleeping bag as well
