I would say if its bigger then a shooter marble and still green you have a squash genetic. Some of my little kins on various plants appear green at first then go yellow about marble size. Hope that helps.

Make sure you self pollinate this one! Go green

Ditto that. . . the Miller seed is no slouch and it would be an interesting alternative source of big squash genetics if it does go green...

If you really end up with green fruit, I'd be willing to bet that the seed you are growing is not a real 1985 Miller seed.

I have a plant that is the 2230 crosses with the 1985 and the female is still small but looks a light green. I think it’s in the genetics

All the females on our 1985 Miller are bright yellow and football shaped.

Three years ago I grew one on a secondary of a 1985 Miller and it had alot of green in it. I think it was around 600 lbs. Cut it open and it was solid green inside. Very thick walls. It wasn’t green at pollination time though.
