Our 2150 was extremely slow to start- took 10 days to germinate, had very poorly formed cotyledons, and the first true leaves were tiny. I figured that it had something to do with the pumpkin’s low seed count- maybe a lot of the salvaged seeds weren’t very well developed- so we decided to put it in a side patch to see what it would do because the genetic potential is outstanding and we didn’t want to waste it.

This plant has rewarded our patience. It finally kicked into gear and looks very strong. The side patch wasn’t amended at all, so we’re going to rely on water solubles to give it some juice and try to make some crosses with it.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with this plant? I still have 1 more 2150 seed- might start it 3 weeks early next time just in case.

I started one and it was weak and weird.I put it in a genetics spot and will try to grow a fruit on it but haven't used it as a pollinator. Under filled seeds don t have a good shelf life so I'd try it sooner than later.

Mine was SLOWWWWW. Crazy slow. It was also very ugly. I didnt think it was going to make it at all. It didn't want to germinate. Once it did, it didn't want to leave the seed coat. Then it didn't want to grow a root. I gave up on it and left the pot outside figuring it would die, but it woke up! After some time, it has caught up just fine!

I just posted a photo of ours in my grower diary. It looks like a completely different plant compared to 3 weeks ago.

Mine was the exact same way and in last 10 days the plant has really kicked it into high gear.
