I was wondering ...is it ok to use a male flower that is 1 day old to pollinate with (not fresh)

The reason I’m asking is because I have a female opening tomorrow and I’m not sure if I’m going to have a male flower to pollinate with.

Thanks for any help
Joe

it's ok, we won't tell anyone...use the male 1 day old, unless you go out there now or in the AM before any flowers open and get a few males yet unopened. i pollinated one last year that was about 12 hours late and it took, so, i'm sure even stranger things can happen! eg

You can cut the male flowers in the evening unopened, they should have some yellow, put then in a cup with some water. If you need them the next day put them on side board. if you need them in two days put them in frig. then the next evening cut more and take the first males out of frig. With this rotation of male flowers you should be ready for a pollination. Recut the stems on day two of your stored males it keeps them fresher and drinking water. I have five kins growing all with this technique.

Pollen is only viable for a certain time once the male opens. I would say 24 hours is no longer viable
