My main vine has a huge split in how do I fix it? I was thinking duct tape but since my plant is young I thought that would stop it from getting thicker also I quickly without thinking sprayed pesticides on it but then wiped it up because I didn’t know what that would do

Is the split lengthwise parallel with the vine?

http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=291570 Splits like this heal up fine, you just want to make sure water isn't getting into it.

A few years ago I had a plant the got destroyed by wind damage. I took 2 liter bottles and cut them in half and put over the splits. Then buried with dirt. Keeps the split dry and protects it from any bugs. It worked great
