Hello all i am pretty new to pumpkin and giant pumpkin gardening. I am excited but is there any helpful water guideline charts, or am i basically just watering when the top .5-1 inch of soil gets dry. I dont have a soaker line and my pumpkins plants are only on their 4 leaf so im assuming i can get away with just bucket feedinng them 2-3 times a day for now?
Just looking for watering guidlines based on pumpkin size throughout the entire process. We will just assume a good growing season with no extreme heat for sake of argument. Thanks for any help

We adjust our water rates all the time depending on the weather. We try to keep the soil on the wet but not water logged side of things.

Hi rick, 3 times a day might be a bit much being the plants are awfully small yet. When the plants are that small I usually do about a gallon every other day and increase as the plants get bigger. When I have a pumpkin growing I give them about 100 to 150 gals every other day. You have to kind of play with it a bit to find what works best with your soil conditions
