Subject:  cutting off a pumpkin !

Hi everyone :-) Any thoughts on the best way to remove the vine the pumpkin Im not keeping. The neck is about 24 cm across. ??THANKYOU AND GOOD LUCK !

The idea will be similar, like cut through 1/3 of the STEM, not the vine, every other day, DEPENDING on the actual size of it---Is this for real, like 9 INCHES across? See other opinions(!) They are coming, lol---eg
also, just google cm to inches converter & type it in...

just an update my measurements were slightly incorrect it should have been 2.4 cm not 24 cm lol

Ha yeah like eg said, the safe and accepted way is to cut a small part of the stem over several days but I usually just whack it off all at once. One thing I do not do however is cut too many side vine pumpkins off all at once even if they are tiny. I’ve always felt that sudden redirecting of the water away form the side vines is way more dangerous than cutting just one pumpkin off the main all at once.
