I love bp and everyone on it... some folks more than others sometimes...
Rambling begins...
Sentiments aside, I am pushing the Blossomdownster(s) thing as everyone knows, and, of course it might fail, & it might be a struggle, but in order to focus on my own success, I'm going to be doing just that... I'm going to be out in the patch more... & also doing tomatoes this year... & trying to meet the needs of a happy stable family....
So, I'm thinking what would best serve the various interested pumpkin growers, and myself, is this: I will start a blossom-down growing discussion in the Premium Members Forum. This will be under the heading of "Stems Up: For Blossom-Down Growers" To be posted soon...
This will require a payment of $15 to our provident BP host... I love free but in return for paying a little, maybe, hopefully, we'll be able to have a positive chat/discussion about trying to grow large beautiful saleable pumpkins and the struggle of doing so... (Yes, I am sorry to everyone who appreciates the vast amount of free content on here, on the other hand, I think if you are serious about growing a very nice pumpkin this way, I think it will be money well spent.)
My diary and the BlossomDownster(s) diary will continue to be updated with free info and links.
If that's not enough--feel free to email me. In case anyone is confused, the BlossomDownster(s) competition will be free to enter... no worries.
Personally, however, I want a place to have a serious ongoing discussion about blossom-down growing.
And for the rest of you goofs... I have to say something I will regret somehow, someday:
"My Stems Up... Is yours...??"

i was intrigued by the prospect of the blossom-down method when i first saw anyone try to actually do it with purpose a few weeks ago in your diary or related segment, with the hay bales and such---pretty neat, and with some mechanism to perhaps easily raise or lower the fruit on a daily basis and keep it level, etc., i can say i think it'll be an interesting BP project to watch progressing whether in my own patch or not; also, for additional money to said cause, official tee shirts with that logo on them would be friggin' awesome: slightly re-worded, though: My stem is UP...is yours? i won't even START with what the background images could be---i know of a pumpkin artist...EG
