I am extremely disappointed the officers of the GPC have voted to hold the 2020 convention in LAS VEGAS instead of NEW ENGLAND. I would like to thank Glenn Martin for his effort in pursuing the New England area. The convention has been held in Vegas just a while back. I would like to know why they picked Vegas again.

this is the first I have heard of 2020. I can see reasoning behind choosing other than new england for 2020. Locations for past years. 2016 UK (europe), 2017 Niagra (northeast), 2018 Oregon(west coast), In the future, 2019 Green Bay (central) and 2020 Las Vegas (southwest)?. If anything the growers in Europe and the southeast usa should be asking..when is our turn again?

I have heard back from the GPC and now understand why Vegas was chosen for 2020. I had understood that New England had already been chosen and we just had to work on the venue. Well, I was wrong. New England is being considered for 2021. So much goes into the planning of this event. The officers try to plan three years out. Thanks to them and I want every one to enjoy this years convention. I wish George and I could be there. I miss this event terribly.

I would have preferred Bloomington, MN for 2020. There are many hotels along the I494 strip in front of the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport with hotel shuttles to/from the airport. There is the Mall of America across from the airport. There is Mystic Lake Casino with 3 hotel towers a short drive from the airport. The casino is comparable in size to Vegas casinos.

Vegas will be awesome, just like Portland will be.

Nice to have the Convention nearer the West Coast so the rest of us can attend Convention every couple of years. I missed the last Vegas Convention and will not miss the next one. But travel to New England...no thanks....might as well have the Convention in Hawaii as it’s sure a lot closer and cheaper to get to than travelling to the Eastern Coast for us Westererns.

No matter where the Conventions are held, they are always a great time. As my dad used to say, " you can please some of the people sometime, you can please all of the people sometimes, but you can not please all of the people all of the time!" This event takes so much time to plan and the officers do their best.

How about we have one in the central southern US? Like Nashville or Branson, MO... Oh that's right it caters to the northern guys. How about we go somewhere with nice weather... Jeez

Awesome to know where the 2020 convention will be, Las Vegas is a bit more of an affordable flight compared to other locations, still around $2000 so I should start saving.

I'm glad that Vegas was chosen and not New England! Folks in the NE have had the convention relatively nearby for multiple years at Niagara and Wilkes Barre.

Plus Vegas will be a lot more fun!

Jeremy, Nashville or Branson would be awesome. I already can see Don Young riding a bull. And there’s great fishing on Table Rock Lake in Branson

Luke, the south can't even get consideration for the convention. They give the Patton's a convention and there are just as many weigh offs in the south as over seas.

The Paton brothers covered a lot of the traditional convention costs when we had it in the UK.

Folks should look into what's involved in putting something like that on. The best scenario is usually when you can get 150+ people within driving distance.

How about Ohio....2021?!?! I mean there are 5 GPC weigh-offs every year in Ohio. 2 of which are in Columbus, hint, hint.

Jeremy, you and Spence could do a Vegas road trip! You would have a ball!

Why not? Flights and rooms in Las Vegas are VERY cheap, tons of stuff to do, CHEAP convention space a great place to go to a convention / vacation. Sorry - Feb/March in NE sounds like not a good time. I can be cold at home.

in ohio I've always thought Kalahari in Sandusky huge convention area waterpark for families and with in a 4 hour drive of way more than 150 growers Jerry

Good idea pumpkin kid, I bet I could get my wife and kids to go too. Of course they would be at the water park. I'm not sure what beer is in other hotels, but it's $6 for 16 oz there, a little high for me to have too many

If we are going to Vegas, lets upgrade from the Circus, Circus. The rooms we had there were terrible & uncomfortable.

I second Jane and Phil’s upgrade idea Vegas rocked both years.... but circus circus did not.. I think I spent more time at other hotels/ casinos during our trips..

I would like to see one in Germany or country close to it with a few years to plan for the trip. Airfare to Germany is only a few hundred dollars more per ticket for me than New England. It would be so much more interesting to me.

I was told Vegas always has the biggest turnouts for some reason.

At the airport now getting ready to fly up to Oregon!:)

Andy are you saying there aren't 150 growers in driving distance of Nashville? It's about 5 hrs from the Midwest growers and 4 to 6 hrs from most of the southern growers.
