With all the 2000 pounders grown in 2017 which one would you choose to be the next best seed? All have great genetic background. Just curious what everyone is thinking. Thanks

Good question... I have not researched all of them so my answer is gonna be a little ignorant but I like two: the Holland because the size of the shoulders it seems to have a uniquely good shape for getting even bigger (go Wallaces in 2018... I suspect there is a chance they could grow one even bigger) and the 2150 Skinner because it has a lot of the 2624.6 Willemijns plant in it. Willemijns didn't self his 2624.6 but nevertheless that Skinner is a solid bet imho...

2043.5 Clementz is the most obvious to me. :)

I agree with Glenomkins to a point. It could be one of those 2, but I could also see it being one of the Willemijns 2017 seeds, or 1937 Urena, or 1904.5 Steil. Something with 2145 in it somewhere.

1937 Urena hands down 1810 Werner Heavy to chart will help So get yourself a Sherwood seed. Jim's 1665 at 17% heavy has to be the go to seed for 2018.

I have not researched the Urena kin. Why is it a hot seed? Anyhow what about the 2k group from this year... We got a bubba kin, a Stelts, a Tobeck... 2112 & 2118 look very good. Many off the mcmullen. my problem is I dont see a lot of color in them but there is always a chance I guess. May I add a question: Along with Bubba's what other 2k's might show some good color later on...

I would grow any of the 2000+ pounders that went heavy to the chart.

I think the 2363 Holland offspring will be fantastic and may even have a little color to them.

I don't think you could wrong with any of them it depends on how many are grown I guess but for me I think it will be the 2269 Paton a great cross and it just looks heavy!

I like Marks 2045.5. I think its a great cross, and could be orange. Im growing the Carter seed ( 1317x 2145) I would like to grow the 2045 if i can get one at a good price on auctions.

Don't really have a clue, but here is my guess...so many 2145's sold at auction this year...and they have done so well in the last year...nevermind, just saw you are looking for a NEW BEST SEED! So, my choice would be the new Ky record VanHook!!! (1594?) Best of crosses, & % Heavy is there!!! Peace, Wayne Can't wait to see it grown in the GOLDEN ZONE!!
