I was doing some research and I found that you can get test kits for disease. That can be done at home. I don't have alot of info on them or what the pricing maybe, but it may be worth looking into for those of us that have higher disease pressure.

you can get both cucumber mosaic virus and tobacco mosaic virus tests done by the University of Illinois Plant Clinic for $25 for both , they will also incubate the sample and check for fungal and bacterial pathogens, along with microscopic insects and arthropods.
