I'm looking into purchasing a broadfork and searched BP to see what others are using and didn't come up with much. Are there any brands or styles you can recommend? Saw one under $100 on Amazon but it gets horrible reviews. Much of what I found on the internet, seems way overpriced for such a simple tool. Thanks, Jay

Meadow Creatures 16" tine broadfork for heavy clay soils will make a man out of you and break up your subsoil like a boss.

I purchased from Johnny's seeds the 520 hardpan broadfork. It is 20" wide, 5 angled tines, heavy duty, $225, At this link:

A little overpriced? Maybe, but I worked the hell out of it last Spring and am totally happy with it. I would rather it be beefier than I need rather than wimpier.

I have the meadow creatures broadfork and like it. My suggestion is to hold both handles very well when using it.
If you catch a rock on one side when you go to sink the tines the phrase " upside the head has a whole new meaning"
