Funny you would mention anthrax. My daughter was in a UPS store in Cedar Falls today when a crazy person wearing underwear outside his pants came in screaming about anthrax. The employee called police, tackled him, everyone had to be checked for contamination. A few years ago she was in the Cedar Rapids post office when they had an anthrax drill. Both scared the heck out of her. Then last summer she was on a college trip to Rome when the junkyard exploded a block away as she was going in a post office. And when that nut was placing bombs in mailboxes trying to make a smiley face on the map a few years ago, he hit one just 3 miles west of us, on our mail route. She says she will never go in a post office or UPS again.

Not all of her luck is all bad. In the last 3 weeks she has hit with her car and killed a sheep, a deer and 3 turkeys. But she was not injured and except for a minor crack on the bumper cover her car is undamaged. There is just some dark cloud following her.

I remember seeing the news story about that smiley face pattern, exploding mailbox incident.

Anthrax is also a heavy metal band!

We were lucky, that mailbox that blew up close to us didn't kill anyone, just minor injury. Our rural carrier used to live right across the road, it could have gotten him. They had us leave our mailboxes open for a couple weeks until they caught the guy.

My daughter had to give police a statement, was too shook up at the time so she called later. The guy had been off his medications for a couple months, did not have anthrax but was trying to build fertilizer bombs.
