Hi, I did remember reading this on here somewhere, but after searching and going through the pages i am still unable to find where i read it.
I was trying to find out what is the best ideal distance to pollinate out from the main stump. I think in the past i have been in way too close, maybe 6 feet out. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Most growers like to get out to the sweet spot for some that is 13-16 feet out from the stump. There have been big ones grown at 9 -10 feet also and beyond 16 feet. Sometimes you can’t get the sweet spot so you may have to go shorter or longer. It is good to get at least or around 8 good secondaries to each side of the main prior to the pumpkin if you are at the shorter distance if you can. There have been good ones grown 1,900 plus at the ten foot mark with ample secondaries to each side but strive for that sweet spot if you can which will give you more secondaries a bigger plant and a better chance to get one up their in weight GOODLUCK.

I agree with pooh-bear.You also should factor in how big is the plant size and set the pumpkin around the beginning of summer.

Cheers, I have a good 2000 sq ft area to grow two plants in, one at each end in a Christmas tree design. I will then aim to get the pumpkin set out at the 13 -16 ft mark. If area is a tad small for two plants, i think i will plan on keeping the strongest fastest growing plant.
