The Upper Midwest Giant Pumpkin Growers weigh-off will take place at Gale Woods Farm in Minnetrista, MN on October 7th. Weigh-off will also determine the winner of the MN Tomato Challenge. Prize structure is as follows:

Giant Pumpkin/Squash
1st = $1,200
2nd = $800
3rd= $600
4th = $500
5th = $400
6th = $300
7th = $250
8th = $200
9th = $150
10th = $100
11th = $75
12th = $50

Howard Dill = $100

MN Tomato Challenge
1st = $500
2nd = $250
3rd = $100

Watermelon
1st = $50

Long Gourd
1st = $50

Field Pumpkin
1st = $50

Other festival activities include pumpkin carving, a pie eating contest, sheepdog trials, apple picking, and wagon rides. Bring the whole family for a fun day on the farm!

I have been looking forward to this weighoff all summer. Nice payout...all the way to twelve places. What is even better...this is a fun weighoff. Great group of growers last year. Hope to see you all there.

this is a great family friendly weigh-off - and wait?! is that $500 for a tomato?!?!? holy crap!!! Is it too late to start one.... :)

Anyone going to this Weigh Off that would possibly donate their pumpkin to Anoka for Carving, or have a small pumpkin to carve.
