Please clean your entries before you get to the weighoff. It only takes you a minute, but multiplied by numerous entries, it can slow things down a bit when it comes showtime if they're not clean.
Your entry is not going to rot on the way to the weighoff if you remove that pound of fungicide before loading. And if things are that bad.....
I say this as someone who has seen plenty of kids touching pumpkins, and as someone who has had my hands smelling of sulfur for days after a weighoff.

So true Andy. Captan is highly toxic to the eyes and can cause permanent damage. All it would take is someone to touch the pumpkin and then rub their eye.

I spray my giant squash with a diluted bleach solution.
