The organizer of Gale Woods (Tom McDowell) is biking in Pennsylvania until I think the 19th. I sent him an email. Hopefully he will have a chance to respond soon.

Stillwater is still showing 2016 prize fund on their website. And the link on GPC to the Stillwater event website goes to a dead end.

Anoka, I saw your prize posted on another thread and bnot, I heard from a reliable source your kicking in 20 bucks for gas money. Lol

With the monsters you have Hobbit, you should be offering to buy all the weigh off competitors dinner after you take away all the prize money. The challenge will be to figure out which pumpkin to take to which weigh off for the biggest payoff.

These are monsters here. In your neck of the woods where they bring in 1900 plus pounders there quite small. My biggest challenge is I don't own a pickup or a trailer to haul them. Heck, I drive a 1996 Honda Accord with over 250,000 miles on it.

Just think,,, rent a truck,,, win a few weigh offs,,,, then at the end of October purchase yourself a new F350 and pay cash!!!

Lol So. Cal. I wish, it were that easy. I'm counting coins at this point and bnot's $20 dollar donation for gas looks mighty tempting. Lol. I've looked at the weights from last years fests in that area, pretty stiff competition down there, so not much money to be made. I'd definitely have more fun than money and to me that's what it's about.

Hobbit I will match bnot's gas donation to see and meet you at Gale Woods.

Great answer hobbit! Yes, it's all about the family and fun we have doing the weigh offs!

Again, good luck in what ever you do this year!!:)

Here's a thought for you hobbit. If you can locate a truck and trailer you could haul all three in one trip. I think we could find a safe storage spot for your Stillwater pumpkin. Then the weekend of Stillwater you could drive this way with your Accord. That way you would only need to find heavy transportation for one trip.

I think I have a plan bnot. And all kidding aside, I don't need help with money. It was a message I received from Qtip about bnot donating 20 bucks for gas. I couldn't resist bringing it up.

Watch out, qtip is trouble maker. I really shouldn't keep him as friend.Bill is giving away the money that he is going to win from me if he brings in at least a one pound AG. Hey bill, if it wasn't for the June hail I would have kicked your tail. If you have any issues Hobbit fill free to email me. We certainly will welcome your niceness to our weighoffs.

I think pretty much everyone on this sit are good people, even Q-tip lol. I'm still working on transportation to get these things there. I haven't found anything yet. If I haul them one at a time I could do it. So what I'm thinking is taking one to Minot on the 7th then beat feet back home, unload and load another and be in Anoka for the 8th. Then back home and bring another to Stillwater on the 14 th.

Thank you hobbit for considering coming to the anoka weigh-off. I sent out a mass email the other day to local growers letting them know the importance of entries for this 1st year event so hopefully it will be a first annual event. No pumpkins = no weigh-off
