My fruit has these splits on the stem. There is also a larger one on the underside. It doesn't penetrate into the fruit that I can see.

Is there anything I can or should do? Seems like everything that could possibly go wrong, has gone wrong this year.

Those are normal. I notice they happen more on cool nights shortly after pollination.

That's comforting. It's been a while since pollination though - 16 days and it's still not the size of a football. Stupid plant...

Sometimes they won't set a fruit until way late in the season. By then, the plant is so big it is sending too much water and nutrients to the fruit, resulting in splits. If its just the stem, there is no worry. But sometimes the fruit itself will split in half.
