My son and I grew a 9.0lb cabbage this year for his third grade project. I know this isn't a monster, but we had fun and my son is hooked on growing more next year. I would like to know if any one has a week to week list on what to feed them to get huge. Thanks for any help.

I did the same thing this year with my son in 3rd grade (Bonnie gave them out to a lot of 3rd graders in different states). It was a great experience for both of us. If anyone is aware of a good resource for giant cabbage growing info, it would be appreciated. Interestingly, I found out the hard way that the insect pressure was much harder on the cabbage than the pumpkins.

My daughter was the state of Iowa winner for the Bonnie Plants giant cabbage contest that Pmwstarr mentioned. Her cabbage got the same care, ferts, watering as our giant pumpkin, which seemed to work - 32 pounds

Dan, congrats to you and your daughter!!!! As much as I like trying to grow a monster pumpkin, this is what I love about the hobbie. Time with your nine or ten year old child in the garden is priceless. Nice work.
