Winning the battle today but may yet loose the war...
Any one have thoughts on spraying foliar with sugars as a stimulant for PM? Would be interesting to here some ideas or see some documents. I usually avoid foliar fish emulsions after July for this reason. Been wondering about the affects of sugars on PM growth.

I have added molasses to foliar feed in past years and not seen a problem, We got PM in our patch without any foliar feeding this year, I think high humidity and poor air circulation are the main causes.

Foliar feeding should not cause Powdery Mildew if anything it would prevent infection.

I think humid conditions is the biggest factor, adding fans may help and reduce soil moisture. Have a preventative systemic program going well before PM may appear

I used General hydro subculture B one year I had it real bad and it knocked down the PM fast sprayed every leaf that year with a pump up sprayer.. I also used it this year threw my tanks but then I got hail so... no more leafs to get powdery mildew on problem solved ... but all my pop up growth looks amazing now... leafs are over rated..lol

Not after a cause. The question is does sugary solutions enhance PM?

So When a mold spore lands on a plant leaf, it wants to send down a feeding tube to get to the water between the cells to germinate and spread.
Do sugars enhance this process? My observation is yes however I'm looking for documentation for proof.
