No split but 1/2 inch of rot has set in that I have dug out and applied sulphur:

I'd be interested to know what people think of the chances of this completing the season? Or is it a waste of time trying!

Well I've spent so much time and money so far, $200 for a rechargeable cordless fan won't hurt (ouch)

Fan works great, all day and all night on one charge. But the rot has gone a bit deeper. I dug it out again and sprayed with systemic and contact fungicide. When/if it dries I'll coat the callous with resin. I doubt it will be OK to show but I'm not giving up until I have to.

Keep treating it and don't quit till she does. That being said, I had rot last year (about an inch below the blossom), and this was it a couple weeks later.

Fan will be on all night, and it's been dry. I'll report back tomorrow but I am not very optimistic!

Has anyone really laid off the water when this happens to see if you can coast into the finish? I figure less growth, but less potential to keep the rot hydrated. Biggest problem I see is a sudden rain on dry soil can cause a split.

fan and sulfer will help but my advise? get it out of the patch and into a weigh-off asap. eventually it will rot threw. thats what happened to ron 2307 last year.
a small blossom started to rot and even after applying sulfer, fan, everything we could think of? it still blew a small pin sized hole.

I haven't tried it, but i am wondering if UV light could slow down the rot. Did anyone ever find out how Josiah stopped rot a few years ago?
