How do you measure a sunflower head for width. Ive been growing them for 20 years and still not sure how to officially measure a mature head with dried up flower petals

We measure at the widest point and from the outside top edge of one point to the outside top edge of the other. If that makes any sense... Lol

Mikkal top edge means back edge or seed side edge?

as I understand it...widest measurement straight across from seed edge to seed edge...do not include any petals. I am still curious though...if head is curved/curled...do you follow the curve? Peace, Wayne
