My crack is getting larger, I just poked a 3 inch long piece of grass/weed into it---not sure if it went into the cavity or not. I've had this crack for a month, pumpkin is still growing slowly, now at 8 lbs a day---does that mean my crack is not quite yet to the cavity? And once it does, will the pumpkin go down quick?

Kurt/Gus, - If it cracks into the case you have about 10 days of growth left then its over for good. Waiting any longer to harvest seeds results in heavy mold damage.

Kahuna, what are the physical signs of it going down? It still looks/feels firm as of now--assume it gets soft at the blossom spot?
