I've had a tough year. I lost my 2 large plants to a disease and was left with a small experimental plant. I had let 2 pumpkins grow on it and they grew grreea but have slowed down drastically. I'm thinking about picking them or leaving them on and letting 1 more that got started a couple of days ago go and see if I can get a big one. Any thought or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Here is a link to an album with pictures of the plant. There are 2 pumpkins the size of the one pictured. I didn't think to cover them so I think the heat wave we had hardened up the skin on them and is causing the slow growth. http://imgur.com/gallery/puxCD

Leave em on if you want them to last longer into the fall even if growth is slow. Yeah sure let the plant grow a third... I don't see why not...

Leave on the vine as long as possible even if not growing in size.

It's hard for me to follow your link on my phone but basically if the two you have now are done growing the. They are obviously not going to take anything away from the new pumpkin. So leave them on there so they are as healthy as possible and grow you another one! Best of luck to you

Thanks for the replys. The "leave them on" crowd has spoken. I'll come back in a few weeks and post the results. I figure spread the results and maybe help out the next person. :)
