I posted in my diary a picture of a crack near the stem that is only about a 1/4" deep. Will the kin be fine and heal over or will it end my season.

I believe running a fan 24/7 on the cracks will dry out and depending on the size of the cracks if rot controlled you will still be qualified for contest ;)

So far so good I would say... it looks like a scratch compared to some I have seen heal. Keeping it dry and some sulfur powder will help. That should be the thickest part of the pumpkin.
