The Great Pumpkin Commonwealth is asking for your $upport!
In an effort to increase our base, we are introducing a DONATE button on the BP Home Page, (coming soon). We have already added a DONATE button to the GPC Home Page. http://www.gpc1.org/
Your GPC Committee members work to cultivate the Hobby of growing giant pumpkins fruits and vegetables throughout the world by establishing standards and regulations to ensure quality of fruit, fairness of competition, recognition of achievement, fellowship and education for all participating growers and weigh off site across great mother earth.
To show our appreciation for your minimum donation of $5.00, we will send you a GPC Donor decal for your window, bumper or collection. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/DisplayPhoto.asp?pid=7682&gid=-32842
Thank You for your Support

Some of these weigh off sites offer upwards of $30,000. I don't think a percentage of that to help increase your base would be too much to ask since the majority of growers in this hobby are not in it to make $$$$! $30,000 is a huge prize!

4th largest donkin, if the gpc starts taken money from gpc weigh offs I don't see the gpc being around for to long someone who is fed up with the way they run things ( if they were to go that far) would start a new organization, donations are fine, the 25$ it takes to regester a pumpkin is fine. Taking prize money meant for the grower who puts his whole year on hold for pumpkins is not fine.

Also if there would be a seed auction meant for the gpc and the people that spend time running it would be ok in my book

The gpc is not providing the prize money, in most cases it's none gpc representatives asking for sponsors to represent the weigh offs, new weigh offs are started by the gpc, to a point, but there were a lot of pre existing weigh off before they started the gpc to better manage weigh offs and record records, if a gpc representative took a portion of the prize money from a weigh off he or she started and is running every year wouldn't be a problem with me

Great job GPC are the donations tax deductible.... it might make it easier for someone to donate more than 5 bucks if there was a tax incentive to do so... don't know if that would help people outside of the USA donate but if it's a tax deduction for US citizens great
