Better late than never, but I have 4 growing well on my 1 plant ranging from 3 DAP to 7 DAP. My question is 2 of the 4 have deep wrinkles especially opposite the blossom end by the stem attachment area.... not that tight skinned look most have. Anyone have experience with these?

They are growing well and one of the wrinkled 7 DAPers put on 3 inches last night. I need to start narrowing down soon to at least 2 pkns, and I'm thinking wrinkles might need to go? If I recall these are more prone to later aborts?

Thanks

My experience has been the wrinkled young pumpkins abort. I have 3 late pollinations on the vine, and 2 of them are wrinkled.

Wait for more feedback before culling.

Luke, my experience is I was pushing too much nitrogen at the time of setting and after. Too much Missouri Mule in me to lay off the nitrogen trying to get the plants big before setting and it affected the fruit.

I would give them a couple more days just to be sure, but it doesn't sound too good for them.

I 2nd the too much N causes them to be wrinkled, but I would hold off on culling tho

Thanks for the input, at least 2 of them don't have the wrinkles. I've really only been using 6-4-4 "Grow Big" once a week and am going to be switching over to a higher K fert this week. I'll probably compare all 10 DAP numbers and go from there.
