Wanted to reach out and let you know about a new free podcast I've launched. While it is directed toward the cannabis industry, the majority of the information is general for all plants, including giant pumpkins.

Interviews available on the podcast:
Jeff Lowenfels - author of "Teaming with Microbes, Teaming with Nutrients, and Teaming with Fungi"
Steve Solomon - author of "Gardening West of the Cascades" and "The Intelligent Gardener"
Tim Wilson of Microbe Organics (expert on compost teas)
Clackamas Coot (Internet famous for his soil mix and barley sprouted seed teas)

Here's the link to the podcast page and you can listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play as well:

Would love any feedback. I know we talk about mycorrhizal fungi in the episode with Jeff Lowenfels in great detail, and David Bernard Perron talks about insect frass as a beneficial amendment to your garden.

Thanks!

Tadd, Nice to hear of Jeff again... You folks are all doing so well.... Excellent Podcast...

Starting to see Myco added to plants in Ontario now. I even saw an older lady buy a jug of myco yesterday in the garden store.

Thanks for posting.... Take care

Russ,

Thanks for the kind words. A "jug" of myco? What is that? Haven't seen that many liquid products on the market.

I used Ron Wallace's WOW this year and only sell two myco brands in our store (WOW and Mykos). Plants are looking great, though my giant pumpkins are behind this season because we got them in the ground late.

Check out the podcast by David Bernard Perron. He has some interesting comments regarding insect frass that I think would apply to pumpkins, he's a really smart guy.

I'm also wondering if anyone has experimented with adding malted barley as a way of increasing enzymatic activity in their patch?

Pro Mix maker Premier Bio-Tech is marketing a black one gallon jug of myco mixed with calcined clay that can be sprinkled into planting holes...
