I'm getting some yellowing on the edges of newer leaves on one plant. From what I've read this could be a deficiency or a toxicity. Can anyone suggest what might be causing this yellowing? Picture on the link below.

Any sign of SVB's?

The leaves are actually nice looking, like a variegated pumpkin leaf. I have never seen anything like it.

No SVB's fortunately at 5,600 feet altitude.

I'm leaning towards cooler nights causing the yellowing right now. Lows in the low 50s are typical here. The yellowing reminds me of the yellowing you see in the spring, when it is cool. Day time temps have been hot however.

Big moon - this plant is mostly Ron Wallace's plant that grew the 2009. It is a selfed clone of that 1725 crossed with a 1985 Miller. A lot of 1725 Harp in it.

Arvada boy, are you saying that this plant is an exact clone of the 2009? Have you kept it going all this time? Is my understanding correct?

I wish it was a clone of Ron's plant. Joe Scherber got an actual clone of the plant the spring following Ron's world record. He was able to get a pumpkin on that clone plant and selfed it (282 Scherber). That 282 seed should have been planted more. Joe had a couple of very good pumpkins going on that seed but lost both. I also lost the one I grew to BES. I used it as a pollinator on the 1985 Miller I grew that year. That 1985 plant was a great plant. Grower error and irrigation problems kept that pumpkin from coming anywhere near its potential. I liked the genetics however, so grew it this year. Unfortunately really bad winds took a toll on the plant early this year.

I hope it can recover and grow a huge one for you.

Could be guttation at night. Water presses out of the leaves which brings sugars and salts with it which then cause leaf burning when the sun comes out.

Causes; high relative humidity and high root pressure. Maybe too wet or watering too late in the day.

I have this same thing on my cucumbers grown hydroponically, and for me the cause is as per above

Cool nights: high relative humidity

Dandytown that is interesting information.

Another thing to look out for is if the leaves appeared to get bigger at the same time with the cooler nights. Easily mistaken for growth and also due to high root pressure pushing water into the leaves.
