Just curious if anyone has ever grown anything big with a pollination date of 7/14 or later? I have a terrible looking pumpkin set that I am debating letting it ride out or culling and going with a really late pollination of 7/14. Any input appreciated! Thanks!

A grower in NH had one last year that was pollinated around that date and it weighed in just under 1,500 pounds by the end of Sept.

Good question Chris. I have a set on my 1474 Clementz plant that seems to have stalled. I have a female on the main that should open in about 2 days. I may even go with one that was pollinated yesterday on a secondary, and treat that as the main. We'll see how they do. Good luck to you.

Should be fun - let's see how much we can push these babies - Gary, Big T and/or Doug this sounds like a wager is in order? :) $2 entry fee and an awesome "late pollination championship" trophy to the winner??? Let me know

I'm in. I'll still be germinating for another week. My growing season ends mid-third week of September. Set a date to end? Did you ever find out what that plant was??

Q I'm in next time I see u I'll give ya the 2 bucks rules.... have to disclaim the seed and cross and pollenation date and show current pics no 2 week old polaroids .... even I would keep them current on these 2 plants... this might just save the glen seed from the compost pile ....

I might have my final 2 pollinations later this week. I'll be happy if they make a weigh off.

Just looked I'm at least 10 days until next pollination. Some good crosses so I'm sticking with them until the end.

I'm 8-10 days out on pollinations on 2 of 3 plants. It's been ruff this year for me. Lots of rookie mess ups. Just hoping for something to take to the weigh offs.

Ok I won't say how big the big one is as I'm sure she will blow up soon but my early one if they don't abort I'll have 3 now looking at things I guess

Jay, I'm the same cause mine keep aborting. My 1 plant ribbon vined and I had to cut back to a first secondary to train as a new main. The plant is massive now, and almosy all terminated so hopefully it'll keep something.
I should be pollination around 07/19-07/20, but it's now supposed to be 103 those days so we will see. I'm going to keep a couple secondaries going for even later to just get something to salvage the season if need be.
Good luck fellers!
