Ideally you want seeds to stay at a steady cold temperature with little humidity. A "deep freeze" which does not cycle through defrost cycles is a great way to store seeds. A"frost free" freezers not the best because it cycles from freezing to a warmer temperature as it runs through it's defrost cycle. You want a a good flat line temperature with all the moisture sucked out of the atmosphere, kind of like how Han Solo was frozen.
