Put something heavy on the chairs so they don't get blown over and break a vine.

Went with a 10 oz plastic cup, I'll sit in the chair to hold it down with my 7' graphite fishing rod in one hand pointing at the sky and my favorite beverage in the other..better bring a cooler..I might be there a while..if I'm lucky I won't get struck by lightning and might snag a carcass or two. Gonna put a damper on my Fishin'...

Unless you secure that plastic cup, a moderate wind gust will sending it flying. If your temps are mid 80's you risk frying it in a mini greenhouse of sorts. Foam cup with a wooden skewer piercing the lip of the cup and run the tip of skewer a few inches into the dirt.

I use styrofoam cups and hold it in place by pushing a bamboo stick through it, just don't stab your vine or pumpkin with the bamboo

Clothes pins work well for us. We use then to keep the female & males closed until we get out in the early morning. Once pollinated, just close them back up & pin them shut. Never had an issue with them & they won't blow away.
Good luck.

Nope no cups for me...seen too many bees force their way in, one right after I tied it....got in. so I only use nylons now, and tie shut with the nylon back on. My pollinations are 100% what I want them to be. Ever see a pincher bug with pollen on them? They can pollinate too, cup dont stop them t hey crawl everywheres.

Had that problem last year..good pollination with a bee coming out later in a split in the blossom. Nylon sounds good..they may look funny at me when I buy the xtra large!! Looking at the cups to keep them dry after tying off. Any critter will carry pollen..want to keep them all out and the kin dry. Way to many nice orange to screw up!
