My biggest concern would be internal damage since the blossom end is typically the thinnest section. Go with it if that's your best option for now, Peter. Good luck!

Thanks guys, it was a long shot hoping for a warm blanket in the form of ´yeah it will be fine, done that loads´ lol.
Just have to see how it goes and try to stay away from the plants

If you snapped it off cause the pumpkin was so big it needed to be repositioned already-then it should be fine:)Ive never managed to do that so early-I suspect it could be ok

I read some article about cucurbita pollination where they broke off the nub after about 4 hours, can't remember the study now. It had something to do with only the fastest growing pollen tubes would reach the fruit in time. So this might be a good thing.
