Hi! I am not a new pumpkin grower, but I have an issue that I can't resolve on my own. I have had way too many dealings with squash vine borers, but this is a newish symptom. The leaves on my young pumpkin plant are beginning to wrinkle. They are also browning around the edges. They will wilt a bit in direct sunlight. That makes me think SVB,but the other symptoms are new. I checked the article on leaf issues on this website and I think it is either too much nitrogen or yellow vine disease. I posted a couple of Picts in the diary page, but it needs to be approved. Any advice would be welcome! I had no pumpkins last year and am desperate to grow some this year. Oh, they are Big Max seeds. Thank you!

Looks similar to sunburn, may need more water and possibly nutrients. Shading them on hot days may help.

In the past 2.5 weeks I've sprayed it with need and then sevin liquid. I am just passionate with not having squash vine borer. The leaves have become a bit more wrinkled today. I may be obsessed with my pumpkins.

Just be by being on this site pretty much means you are obsessed with your pumpkins. We all are. If I can interpret your post correctly you are not spraying the correct things to prevent SVB. get some generic merit and bifenthrin. Not having seen your leaves it sounds like you are hitting the plants too hard with whatever sprays you are using which is causing the damage.

Sounds like a fertilizer issue to me like way too much nitrogen. Just make sure they get plenty of water and are at the correct pH and your other nutrients are not low

It looks like spray damage to me. Ortho Bug Be Gon is bifenthrin, a good contact spray, has never damaged my plants. And you need to stop the nitrogen. Too much N at pollination can make pumpkins abort.

Thank you! It is so gratifying to find this community! I've tried uploading more pictures toy diary. There's not much change, except some new leaves are growing yellow and some are a bit malformed. Virus?
