The GPC executive is happy to announce that Doug's world record bushel gourd of 279.5 pounds from 2014 has been recognized by Guiness World Records and he has received his certificate. We felt it was important that he be acknowledged as the current world record holder with the increasing interest in these heavy gourds. This recognition is well deserved indeed. Doug has been very gracious in his sharing of seeds and sharing of information through articles and personal contact. Now that he has been officially recognized we can move onward and upward, hopefully increasing weights and further recognition for more growers in the near future. Thank you Doug and best of luck to all growers.
