We had a sudden, whale of a wind storm yesterday, sustained winds 35 with gusts to nearly 50. I got an emergency call from my wife who was in the patch hanging on to the hoop house plastic for dear life. She's only 5'3" and the hoop houses are over 6 foot tall and 20 feet long. Lots of plastic to catch the wind. I raced home and did about 30 minutes of emergency stabilization and finally she was able to let go. The vines suffered only minimal damage.

So how would you show your gratitude?

I would book a trip for a week in Hawaii for the second week in July after your pollinations are finished. Maybe a new show horse would be a nice gesture too...perhaps some jewelry....a new truck...ha!

Does your wife have her own hobby or passion? You could say "thank you" for supporting your passion by supporting hers - tickets to a hobby focused conference or event, new supplies, or a hobby-related trip.

If you have kids get a sitter, get a nice hotel room for the night take her out for her favorite dinner then order her a nice bottle of wine... let her get over served then go back to the hotel get a great nite sleep with out having to worry about the kids in the am (sleep in) then get up and go shopping a

Get her a STIHL Mist Blower.
That way she can test the strength of your hoop houses and determine how much wind they can handle.
