I've got 29 AGs going. I've got four each of my two best plants ( BIGNORANGE) and want to play! Wondering if I let one of each go how many kins can I get from a plant? Don't care about size. Everybody is producing at three feet out. Will probably cull some early ones on the main and let the secondaries produce also. My biggest last year was on a secondary. Looking for a bunch of Orange that can be moved by hand.

Well I'll do some quick math for ya...Looking at your diary you have a 6000 sq foot patch so 6000/29 is 206 foot per plant...not much but enough for 1 big pumpkin per plant.

if you let them grow crazy it would be a major mess but you could expect a few pumpkins per plant...

My suggestion would be to give each plant twice as much space say 400 square foot per plant and then you could easily get several pumpkins per plant.

The biggest thing would be keeping them things healthy. Break out the bug and fungus sprays now!

Jake, I've only got 16 in that patch and chances are some will be pulled. I've got 11 in another patch at my buddies farm. Got two for pollen in my veggie garden. I should be fine size wise. I've gardened for over 30 years but only the second year with AGs.

Cool well you'll have 375 feet per plant assuming you let them grow to each other. If you are wanting to move them buy hand i'm guessing under 250 pounds so 3-4 per plant would be what I would shoot for. Some will get to 100 and then you might get a few around the 2-300 pound range with good healthy plants.

I let one of my plants go wild last year. With zero care given to it I ended up with 11 pumpkins in the 300 pound range. A lot of work to clean up that mess.

Figure three pumpkins on a plant growing one fruit on three trained mains-200 to 400 square feet per plant . Don't let the plants run over each other or youll have a jungle 2nd half of season.

I've got 4 plants at my buddies farm that I planted basically in a circle or corners of a box. They will all grow away from each other. Two each of my best orange from last year. Hopefully no drought this year! They are about ten feet apart. Figured easier to take care of and water. He sold a bunch we planted last year and looking to produce a bunch of nice symetrical orange. I know my one plant had lots of kins that I culled. Just wondering if I can keep them all? Probably will try saving kins about 7' out on main and 4' out on secondaries per Iowegians recommendation and see what happens. Plenty of space for them at Scofields Farm. Real nice soil..water could be an issue.

I am working on a pumpkin vine jungle 20 plants just burning some vines so the wind don't roll them but other than that just letting them go craz and see what happens. Good luck should put of 15 to 20 per plant if you let them.

Minor hi-jack here, but it's not my first time!!! & I do appologize. I have a plant that will be ready to pollinate on main vine by 7/1...on the fourth side vine...approx 6' from stump, I have found...approx 3.5' from main a conjoined (twin) female!!! What should I do w/it? The two female flowers look like they will open on different days? Seriously want to pollinate it just to see what happens? Any opinions? Peace, Wayne
