I hope to be going to up to two weighoffs this year. Pawnee City, NE and/or Republic, MO. My question is do you just show up with a pumpkin or do you have to enter way before hand?

At Pawnee City you just show up. They set it up on the east side of the courthouse. I have been there the last 2 years and had a great time. In 2015 Larry the Cable Guy showed up, its his home town. If you see someone there going around with a walker 4 days after knee replacement surgery, that will be me. I will be there if at all possible.

I've been to republic for 2 years with entries. You just show up at the specified time. I believe it was between 8 am and 10 am, but they change it every year so definitely check. I typically bring filled out paper work, so I don't have to mess with it their. They weigh as the items arrive,So grow big!

Jake, as I understand it most independent gpc weighoff sites are come as you are events, unless being held at a State Fair. Then it seems to become a pre-register type of event. Why? Don't know...prbly government intervention type of thing!!! Peace, Wayne Almost funny how independent & government conflict at times...know what I mean?

fairs can have over tens of thousands of entrys every chicken horse rabbit etc all go thru entry dept ( reason to enter ahead of time)

C'mon Don!! Even a rookie like you can tell the difference b/tween a GIANT PKN, & a "chicken horse rabbit etc"!!! LOL I understand the process, but still think it restricts who shows up at times!! Peace, Wayne
